    Julie is one of the leading champions for entrepreneurship in Europe. With over 20 years investment and advisory experience helping start-up businesses, she is the well known founder and CEO of Ariadne Capital, founder of Entrepreneur Country, co-founder of First Tuesday, dragon on BBC's Online Dragons Den and weekly columnist in London's City A.M.

    Through these intertwining roles of entrepreneur, advisor, investor and industry commentator, Julie has set her mission to build a growth story for the UK and Europe. This passion and entrepreneurial flair has earned her awards as Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, World Economic Forum Global Leader of Tomorrow and a place in the Wall Street Journal's Top 30 Most Influential Women in Europe.

  • Rory Sutherland

    Rory Sutherland joined Ogilvy & Mather Direct in 1988. In 1990 he joined the agency’s Creative Department as a junior copywriter, working on American Express, Royal Mail and Microsoft. He is an enthusiastic advocate of new media and new means of advertising and customer engagement.

    In 1997 as Creative Director, he was closely involved in the agency’s re-launch and restructuring as OgilvyOne. He was promoted to Executive Creative Director in 2002 and, more recently, also became Vice-Chairman of the overall Ogilvy Group in the UK. He became President of the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA) in April 2009.

    VP Strategic Development, Sony Music UK

    Fred is responsible for the development Sony Music’s strategy in the UK and runs an in-house marketing services agency that helps labels connect artists with the widest possible audiences. Previously, Fred worked as a strategist at PRS For Music and as a management consultant advising ISPs, mobile operators and media companies. He currently DJs a monthly jazz night, writes about obscure records and used to be in Canadian garage punk “sensations” The Cryptics.

  • Jeremy Silver

    Technology Strategy Board

    Jeremy Silver is a digital media thought-leader, the Technology Strategy Board’s lead specialist in creative industries and acting-CEO of the newly created Featured Artists Coalition, a new music industry organisation co-chaired by Nick Mason of Pink Floyd and David Rowntree of Blur.

    He has held senior roles at Sibelius Software, EMI Music Group, Uplister Inc and Virgin Records where he worked closely with artists including Genesis, Meat Loaf, Brian Eno, Massive Attack and the Future Sound of London.

    Jeremy also serves as Deputy Chairman of Futurelab – an education technology think-tank chaired by Lord David Puttnam and has presented talks and chaired panels on music and digital media at conferences and seminars around the world.

     

  • Peter Buckingham

    UK Film Council

    Peter is Head of Distribution & Exhibition at the UK Film Council and as such is tasked with increasing the breadth and diversity of film audiences across the UK, as well as assisting audience appreciation of UK films. He heads up a range of schemes to support this strategy, which aim to broaden the choice of films available to UK audiences and to increase admissions for a wider range of film; these include the P&A Fund (prints & advertising) and the world’s first 2k Digital Screen Network in over 200 cinemas.

    He is leading on digital strategy for the UK Film Council and has given many lectures on this subject. He is currently also on a number of boards and advisory boards including Cass Business School in London and AIM (The All Industry Marketing agency for the UK film industry) Buckingham was previously Deputy Chief Executive of FilmFour Limited.
