The Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) is the Ministry of Defence’s gateway for UK science and technology for industry, academia and innovators to ensure that UK Armed Forces have access to the best equipment, science and technology, now and in the future.

This CDE call is for research proposals to enhance future Unmanned Air Systems. Specific challenges are:

• Next Generation Small Unmanned Air Systems (UAS)
• Managing Power and Heat - Integrated Vehicle Utility System (IVUS) Technologies
• Whole Life Cost Modelling for UAS
• Enhancement of UAS Navigation Capability

The competition will launch at a presentation and networking event at Harwell on Tuesday 27th September 2011. The event will also provide the opportunity to question leading military and technical experts from the centre and the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory.
