Operational Research and Analysis

The Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) is the Ministry of Defence’s gateway for UK science and technology for industry, academia and innovators to ensure that UK Armed Forces have access to the best equipment, science and technology, now and in the future.

This CDE call is for research proposals that will provide new and innovative tools and techniques to assist MOD in making enduring and emerging decisions. It provides an opportunity for suppliers from across industry and academia to develop their understanding of MOD requirements and submit proposals that will develop and enhance capabilities.

Key challenges in the development of tools and techniques include, but are not limited to:

  • reducing the time and cost of developing and employing analytical models and tools
  • credible representation of emerging scenarios and capabilities
  • combining numerical and judgemental based methods
  • visualising and communicating complex data and conclusions
  • balance of investment across disparate capabilities and lines of development

The call for proposals will be launched at a seminar in Harwell, Oxon on 15th November 2011 and will close on Tuesday 17th January 2012. The event will provide the opportunity to understand the role of operational research and MOD requirements more fully.

Please note it is necessary to register for this seminar at:
