In current operational environments challenges are faced in locating and defeating Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
The MOD Counter Terrorism Science and Technology Centre (CTS & TC) and the Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) are seeking applications which will provide the next generation of Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) and Search/Detect capability.
The competition will open on the 13th May at a CDE briefing event, which will focus on the current operational environments in which EOD and Search / Detect operators work and outline the technical challenges faced in locating and defeating Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).
Ideas are invited which will enhance capability whilst minimizing the burden on military personnel and provide an integrated solution to the defeat of IEDs. Portable and remotely operated solutions and defeat devices are welcome.
