Armour and Protection Science and Technology Centre Launch
The Center for Defense Enterprise (CDE) in conjunction with the MOD Amour and Protection Science & Technology Centre is seeking applications that deliver novel and innovative amour solutions for the battlefield.
Operations in Afghanistan and Iraq continue to highlight the importance of armour and protection solutions and therefore the focus of MOD's research programme has been on developing solutions to meet the existing threat. However, MOD still requires innovative projects in fundamental research to provide the protection solutions for future threats. This has led the MOD to develop the Armour and Protection Science and Technology Centre (A&P STC), which will be the focus for physical protection research, based at the Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl) at Porton Down.
In order to deliver novel and innovative armour solutions for the future battlefield, we need to work together with the finest scientists and engineers from all disciplines to develop a research community capable of delivering world-class protection capability from idea to application. The A&P STC aims to bring in the best ideas from across government, industry and academia to meet the demanding requirements for future systems.
Proposals are sought across a broad range of physical domains and may involve any technology that contributes to an improvement in physical protection.
