Working in partnership

Effective partnership with other bodies is fundamental to the role of the Technology Strategy Board.

We work closely with other organisations who are involved in innovation, research and technology, combining and focusing resources. Programmes and activities are often jointly funded with Research Councils, Government Departments, Regional Development Agencies and the devolved administrations of Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Government's Comprehensive Spending Review in Autumn 2007 increased the funding available for the Technology Strategy Board. Working with the Regional Development Agencies and the Research Councils, we will jointly invest over £1 billion over the next three years.

Government also provides support for innovation to busniess and academia through a number of specific schemes outside the work of the Technology Strategy BOard.
